The former squat Rigaer 94 in Berlin and one of the last such leftist strongholds in Europe faced the possibility of eviction under the pretext of a fire safety inspection. Taken on June 16th. and 17th. the photos document the resistance against a planned police entry that lead to massive protests across the city.

In the wake of the ongoing gentrifiction wave in the city, spaces like Rigaer 94, which actively oppose this trend, have either been recently evicted or continue to face this threat in the near future.
